The Corfu Carnival is a yearly event taking place during the whole month of February. Below you will find the remaining schedule for the events taking place:
Friday the 17th of February at 17:00
On Friday you will be able to enjoy a drum parade by the Venetians in the Historical Center and at 17:30 “The Dance of the Doges… a window in time” in the Town Hall Square. At 19:00 you can watch Peter Norbert play the saxophone in the Town Hall Square.
Saturday the 18th of February at 14:30
On Saturday, there is a “Treasure Hunt” organised by the Corfu Masquerade. It begins at Kofineta and ends at the Town Hall Square at 20:00.
Sunday the 19th of February at 12:00
On Sunday, you can enjoy the Parade of the Lyceum of Greek Girls. At 15:00, there is the Great Carnival Parade with the participation of different primary as well as dance schools and their chosen themes.
Wednesday the 22nd of February at 19:00
On Wednesday, the Parade of the Lyceum of Greek Girls takes place inside the Historical Center and they will be heading towards the Venetian Well.
Thursday the 23rd of February at 20:00
On Thursday, you will see the Petegoletsa, at the Plakada of Agiou. Petegoletsa is a custom that takes place in the evening of the 23rd in the old city, where you will hear people gossiping in the authentic Corfiot dialect.
Friday the 24th of February at 18:00
On Friday at 18:00, you can enjoy the Traditional Song Department of the Cultural Association of Agios Matthaios at the Plakada of Agiou. At 19:00, at the same location, you can watch the Cantriles from the Cultural Association of Lefkimmi “O Garoufalis”.
Saturday the 25th of February at 12:00
On Saturday, there is a Carnival party taking place, including latin dances by the Dance School “STEP TO STEP” at Annunciata Square.
Sunday the 26th of February at 11:00
Sunday is the last day of the Carnival and there will be a big event taking place with songs and dances, offered by the Hellenic-Russian Association of Corfu at the Plakada tou Agiou. At 12:00 there will be a Grand Parade with period costumes followed by drummers from the Old Philharmonic Band, taking place at the Historical Center. At 15:00, there is the Great Carnival Parade, where different primary and dance schools will take part each with their own theme. The Carnival will end at the Pentofanaro with the Testament of the Carnival read there, accompanied by songs and dances.
